Bowl Week Event Schedule

While there will be plenty of excitement on the field come December 30th, there are multiple opportunities for fans to get involved in the Valero Alamo Bowl’s Community Festival of Events. Here’s the rundown of all the bowl week events that will be a blast for diehard fans of our participating teams and San Antonians alike!

Team Day at SeaWorld

When: Friday, December 27 from Noon to 9:00 pm
Where: SeaWorld San Antonio
Park Admission for Guests:
Adult (10 & up) - $59.99
Child (3-9) - $49.99
Children 2 & under – FREE

Select student-athletes from Oregon and Texas will participate in various activities such as swimming with the Beluga Whales, participating in a sit-up contest with a Pacific walrus, and riding the Steel Eel! Come enjoy a day in the park with your family!

Rudy’s Bar-B-Q Pep Rally

When: Saturday, December 28 at 6:30 pm (High school bands begin performing at 4:00 pm)
Where: The Arneson River Theater
Cost: FREE! Seating is very limited at this first-come, first-serve standing room only event

The Head Coaches, football players, pep bands and cheerleaders from Oregon and Texas show their colors as they face off in a spirited pep rally. This is a "must see" event during bowl week that gives fans a chance to see the players and pep bands make their grand entrance through the Arneson River Theater on San Antonio's famous river barges. You can also catch a glimpse of the players as the pass by the Rivercenter Lagoon. Make sure you get there early, grab some beads, and get ready to cheer on your favorite team! 

Valero Alamo Bowl Kickoff Luncheon

When: Sunday, December 29—doors open at 11:30 am
Where: Marriott Rivercenter Grand Ballroom
Cost: $70/person or $700/table of ten, For tickets call 210.704.6391

Before Oregon and Texas hit the field for the big game, everyone will come together at the Valero Alamo Bowl Kickoff Luncheon. More than 1,500 spirited football fans will come to experience the anticipation and festive atmosphere surrounding the big game. Emce’ed by ESPN’s broadcast crew, fans will be treated to firsthand insight from the two head coaches and team captains, as well as revel in the pageantry from the cheerleaders and bands.

Valero Alamo Bowl Fan Zone

When: Game day—Monday, December 30 from Noon to 5:45 pm
Where: Sunset Station & Alamodome North Plaza
Cost: FREE! Food & drink available for purchase

The Valero Alamo Bowl Fan Zone will be the official gathering place before the big game. Over 30,000 fans, the alumni groups and university bands will join together to eat, drink and celebrate before the big game. Located one block north of the Alamodome in Sunset Station, this exciting event is free to the public with food and drink available for purchase. Activities at the Fan Zone include interactive games and football challenges, face painting, inflatables and much more.
