The Valero Alamo Bowl announced its officers who will oversee the 2025 Valero Alamo Bowl and its Community Festival of Events as well as one new board member.
John Eadie has been selected to succeed Clyde Rucker as Chair of the non-profit organization’s Board of Directors. Eadie is Managing Principal of CAPTRUST, a leading financial advisory firm.
A board member of the Valero Alamo Bowl since 2012, Eadie graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Berry College where he now serves on their Board of Trustees. He earned his Master of Accountancy – Tax from the University of Georgia, and is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the American Institute of CPAs, the Texas Society of CPAs, the CFA Institute, and the Investment Management Consultants Association.

The Valero Alamo Bowl also announced the addition of Dan Geddes to the Board of Directors. Geddes, a graduate of Trinity University, has been with Cullen/Frost Bankers, Inc. and Frost Bank since 1997 and currently serves as their Chief Financial Officer.

The Valero Alamo Bowl was created in 1993 to bring enjoyment to San Antonians, South Texans, and visitors alike while creating positive economic impact, experiences, and national attention for our community and participating universities.
The organization has produced 32 bowl games and served as the local host for 11 neutral site games. The 32 Valero Alamo Bowl games have combined to deliver nearly $1.2 billion in total economic impact to San Antonio, 173 million viewers on ESPN/ABC, 1.87 million attendees to the Alamodome, and $174+ million to higher education through team payouts ($162+ million) and local scholarships ($12+ million).
The 2024 Valero Alamo Bowl featuring #17 BYU and #23 Colorado featured a capacity crowd of 64,261 and 8 million viewers watching on ABC, #1 viewership in the event’s history and tops among non-CFP/NY6 games since the 2019-20 Citrus Bowl between Michigan and Alabama. The game also generated a total economic impact of $59 million for San Antonio, the second highest total all-time.
