The Nebraska Cornhuskers (9-2, No. 8 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 9 in the AP Top 25 Poll) have been selected as the Big 12 representative to play in the 2000 SYLVANIA Alamo Bowl on Saturday, December 30 at 7 p.m. (CST) in San Antonio’s 65,000-seat Alamodome.
Nebraska will face the Big Ten Co-Champion Northwestern Wildcats (8-3, No. 19 in ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll and No. 18 in the AP Top 25 Poll). This will be the fourth meeting between the two universities, and their first meeting since 1974 when Nebraska beat Northwestern 49-7 in Lincoln.
