Media Hotel
This year’s media hotel is the Marriott Riverwalk. Room rates for the Valero Alamo Bowl media are $154 per night plus tax, which includes basic Internet access in the sleeping rooms, lobby, and restaurants. This rate is well under the market rate for Bowl Week and is only valid from December 25-31. if you are approved for a credential, you will be approved for a hotel reservation.
Hotel Information
San Antonio Marriott Riverwalk
889 E Market Street
San Antonio, TX, 78205
Hotel: 210-224-4555
All media rooms must be booked through the Bowl’s credential system on the bowl’s website. The Marriott Riverwalk will not accept room reservations directly from media members. The Marriott Rivercenter is across the street and is a team hotel and host of the Kickofff Luncheon the day before the game.
A credit card number is required to reserve a room. Any cancellations must be made directly through the hotel 72 hours in advance. Internet inside the Marriott Riverwalk is free for all media. However, in order to access internet, you must “accept charges” when attempting to log on while in your sleeping room. The Valero Alamo Bowl will cover basic internet costs.
Please note: If you are approved for a credential and requested a hotel room, you WILL receive a room. The Bowl will not turn a rooming list to the Marriott Riverwalk until specified date, so the hotel will NOT have a record of your name until a few days after that date. Everyone approved for a credential that asked for a hotel room will get one. The hotel will email you a confirmation once we give them the names.
The Marriott Riverwalk is valet only. The Convention Center Garage is a relatively inexpensive parking option on the east side of the hotel. The daily rate is typically $15, but that does not include in and out or possible game day surcharges.
Media Will Call
Credentials will not be mailed ahead of time. They can be picked up at specified times at the Media Headquarters (located on the field level of the Alamodome).
If you are arriving on game day, credentials can be picked up at the East entrance of the Alamodome (Gate 4).
Early access can be arranged upon request through Lindsey Linard at lindseyl@alamobowl.com. Those granted photo access will receive their vest at the same location.
Those approved for parking passes will be sent those via an email they need to load to their smart phone.
Policies
The Valero Alamo Bowl reserves the right to revoke any credential used by individuals not fully accredited, or an individual not in compliance with working media standards. Acceptance of credentials constitute agreement by the bearer and his/her media organization to abide by the conditions as prescribed by the Alamo Bowl.
Due to limited availability, media credentials for this event will be prioritized for recognized local media affiliates and individuals who have been approved by either participating team during the regular season. If you do not meet these criteria, your application may not be approved. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to reach out with any questions.
No spouses, dates, or children will be allowed in Alamodome media facilities or on the sideline.
