The Valero Alamo Bowl Community Partners Scholarship award winners were recognized at the annual Rudy’s Bar-B-Q Pigskin Preview on Wednesday, August 28th. The 64 college scholarship winners listed below will split $430,000 through funding from the Bowl and matching programs at each university.
For the 19th consecutive year the Valero Alamo Bowl will also award scholarships to area high school students. This program began in 2000 with 26 San Antonio high school students splitting $52,000 and this year $562,500 will be awarded to 75 deserving students.
With over $1 million distributed each year, the Valero Alamo Bowl has the largest local scholarship total among the 40 bowl games.
Since 2000, including the 2019 season, the Valero Alamo Bowl has distributed $6.1 million in scholarship awards to 1,082 students.
Congratulations to the college winners for the Valero Alamo Bowl Community Partners Scholarship:
