The Valero Alamo Bowl annually hosts 60,000 rabid football fans eager to make unforgettable memories at the Alamodome.
Although the turnout was smaller, the impact was just as large for those who attended the San Antonio Food Bank’s mega foot distribution at the Alamodome on May 1.
The Valero Alamo Bowl contributed $50,000 to the Food Bank’s COVID-19 relief efforts. This donation provided 500,000 pounds of groceries to those struggling with food needs during the crisis.
The dollars were able to provide 100% of the food distributed at a mega food distribution at the Alamodome on May 1, benefiting approximately 8,000 individuals (2,000 households with an average of 4 per household).
“San Antonio is a very special city who comes together in times of need,” said Derrick Fox, President/CEO of the Valero Alamo Bowl. “We are very thankful for the opportunity to support the tireless work the San Antonio Food Bank is doing during these times of unprecedented demand for their services.”
