The secret sauce for the Valero Alamo Bowl’s success is how well San Antonio comes together as one team to provide such a special bowl experience.
Everyone attending the Valero Alamo Bowl becomes an ambassador for our event and city.
While this year’s game will look a lot different with 10,000 fans instead of our normal 60,000+, the Valero Alamo Bowl’s commitment to supportung our comunity hasn’t wavered.
In addition to increasing the number of scholarships awarded to 150+ who will split over $1 million, those in need, the Valero Alamo Bowl contributed 500,000 pounds of groceries to the San Antonio Food Bank to help those struggling with food insecurity during the pandemic.
The groceries were distributed at the mega food distribution at the Alamodome on May 1, benefiting approximately 8,000 individuals (2,000 households with an average of 4 per household).
To further help those still in the need, the Valero Alamo Bowl is auctioning off a prime sideline suite for eight for Tuesday’s game between Texas and Colorado.
The auction will open on Monday, December 28th. Make your bid here on the San Antonio Food Bank website. The suite is on the 30 yard line and includes snacks and drinks courtesy of Pepsi.
