Friday, December 1st

#4 Washington vs #6 Oregon – 7:00 PM CT on ABC

The Pac-12 Championship Game between #4 Washington (12-0) and #6 Oregon (11-1) will be played on Friday in Las Vegas at 7 p.m. CST. 

If the loser of this game falls out of the New Year’s Six, they will be available to the Valero Alamo Bowl. Washington is 1-1 all-time in the Valero Alamo Bowl including last year’s 27-20 win over Texas. Oregon is 1-3 all-time in the Valero Alamo Bowl as they beat Texas (2013) and lost to TCU (2015), Stanford (2016), and Oklahoma (2021).

If #15 Arizona (9-3) doesn’t make the New Year’s Six, they will be available to the Valero Alamo Bowl. The Wildcats have won six in a row including Saturday’s 59-23 rivalry game against Arizona State where Noah Fifita threw for an Arizona record 527 yards and five touchdowns.

This will be Arizona’s first bowl since 2017, and second time to San Antonio after the Nick Foles-led Wildcats lost to #14 Oklahoma State in the 2010 Valero Alamo Bowl.

Big 12

Saturday, December 2nd

#7 Texas vs #20 Oklahoma State – 11:00 AM CT on ABC

The Big 12 Championship pits #7 Texas (11-1) against #20 Oklahoma State (9-3) on Saturday at 11 a.m. CST in Arlington. 

If the loser of this game falls out of the New Year’s Six, they will be available to the Valero Alamo Bowl. Texas is 4-2 all-time in the Valero Alamo Bowl including last year’s 27-20 loss to #12 Washington. Texas’ other loss was in 2012 to #10 Oregon with Marcus Mariota, while the wins came in against Iowa (2006), Oregon State (2012), Utah (2019), and Colorado (2020).

Oklahoma State is 2-2 all-time in the Valero Alamo Bowl with wins against Arizona (2010) and Colorado (2015) and losses against Purdue (1997) and Ohio State (2004).

If #13 Oklahoma (10-2) doesn’t make the New Year’s Six, they will be available to the Valero Alamo Bowl. The Sooners boast the nation’s #4 offense averaging 502.4 yards per game and have one previous Valero Alamo Bowl appearance beating #14 Oregon 47-32 in 2021.
