Transportation
With a capacity crowd expected, please read through all the options on this page to decide the best plan for you.
To reduce congestion arrive early and enjoy the Valero Alamo Bowl Fan Zone at The Espee that runs from 1-6 p.m. one block north of the Alamodome. Gates for the game open at 4:30 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. with 5-5:45 p.m. having the shortest lines.
VIA PARK & RIDE (most recommended option)
Via Metropolitan Transit operates a special event bus service called Park N Ride that drops fans off at the north entrance of the Alamodome on game day for only $2.60 roundtrip.
For the 2024 Valero Alamo Bowl, VIA Park & Ride will operate from their Crossroads Mall (Interstate 410 at IH-10) and Stone Oak (Highway 281 and Stone Oak Parkway) locations These northeast and far north central will feature:
- Service to the game from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Return service will run for one hour after the game’s conclusion.
- A discount fare of $1.30 roundtrip is available for children ages 5-13; senior citizens 62 years and older; Medicare recipients; persons with disabilities; and students with a valid VIA ID.
- Customers can visit VIAinfo.net, pre-purchase tickets on VIA’s goMobile app by selecting the $2.75 all day pass option, or call the goLine at (210) 362-2020 for details. Pro-tip: Spend the 15 extra cents to get the all day pass option and beat the lines.
DOWNTOWN PARKING
A quarter of downtown is dedicated to parking which equates to over 30,000 parking spaces at a variety of parking garages and surface lots where fans can park and get to the game.
The key is arrive arrive early and check your map apps before leaving to find the best routes and avoid the most congested exits by the Alamodome: Commerce, Houston and Cesar Chavez.
Instead, seek out walkable lots and use other exits to drive directly to them.
- To park north of the Alamodome and west of Interstate 281/37, exit Interstate 35 at N. New Braunfels or Interstate 281 at Nolan. There are several surface lots between Commerce and Nolan on Cherry Street.
- There are less parking options to the south of the Alamodome, but the Carolina/Florida exits are typically less congested.
ParkWhiz can be a valuable option for patrons driving to the Alamodome who aren’t staying downtown. Act now before spaces are sold out!

ALAMODOME PARKING
Onsite parking for the Valero Alamo Bowl reaches capacity each year by November, however you can purchase passes from fans that can no longer attend the game here.
If you have already purchased a parking pass, click here to view arrival and departure maps. RV’s, buses and oversized vehicles along with large tailgate footprints will be required to display a parking permit for each occupied space. A single lot space will not allow admittance for an oversized vehicle. Onsite lots open at 10 a.m.
Routes that avoid the highway that runs parallel to the Alamodome (Interstate 281/37) in the downtown area 90 minutes before before kickoff are encouraged.
RIDESHARE/TAXI SERVICE
The Alamodome’s dedicated rideshare, limo, and taxi drop-off and pick up lot is Lot D which is connected to the north entrance via a pedestrian walkway going over Interstate 281/37.
The street address for this lot is between the Tower of Americas and the Alamodome is:
500 Tower of Americas Way
San Antonio, TX 78205
For pregame rideshare drop-offs, fans have also found it convenient to get dropped off four blocks north or south of the Alamodome by exiting Nolan/McCullough or Carolina/Florida, respectively, and getting dropped off at:
600 E. Crockett
San Antonio, TX 78202
(north of Dome)
900 Hoefgen Avenue
San Antonio, TX 78210
(south of Dome)
Pro tip for postgame: If the rideshare lot is backed up after the game, fans often walk to either the center of downtown or north of the Alamodome (i.e. the corner of Crockett and Chestnut at 600 E. Crockett) to grab rides outside of slow moving postgame traffic around the Alamodome. You can also take VIA Park N Ride to Crossroads or Stone Oak if that gets you closer to your destination and rideshare from there for only $1.30.
