1. Where are you from?
I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, the best place for tacos, friendly people, and of course the traditions, like the Fiesta and all the exciting events it brings.
2. What is your Alma Matter? What is your degree in?
I recently graduated from the Art Institute of San Antonio, TX (yes, there is an art college in town) with my BFA in Digital Film & Media Production. Best 3 ½ years of a learning experience, making new friends, working on countless sets, and many opportunities like being a content editor for the Social Media Hub for the NCAA Final Four. Long live the arts!
3. What will you be responsible for while working at the Valero Alamo Bowl?
I will be responsible for digital coordination, meaning making the best content for our viewers and partners and showing them what exciting things, we have to offer throughout the year. I do anything from editing event promos, creating content for the video walls, to editing content for social media platforms. The media field has been my passion and this job suits it perfectly.
4. What part of the experience are you most excited about?
Working the bowl week in December! It’s going to be crazy, but so much fun. I can’t wait to edit and shoot content for many fans to see and experience the fun on all social media platforms! P.S. make sure to follow us on social media to keep updated!
5. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Working for a great media company that loves to help local business stand out from the rest. I would love to be in the production field or in the photography field. Also, I hope to have a fully established photography business by then, right now its growing and I couldn’t be happier.
6. What advice do you have for perspective students who may want to pursue a career in Digital Media?
My biggest advice is to be prepared for anything that can go wrong. Always have a plan A, B, C, & D. My professor said if everything on a set, or in this case a big event, is working perfectly, something is wrong. Also, don’t be afraid to think outside the box and know all the shortcuts to editing. It helps tremendously.
7. What is your favorite thing about San Antonio?
The food and the people. San Antonio offers so much, I’m learning something new about this great city every week. I have lived here all my life and I still have so much to learn about SA.
