It’s time for the second installment of our “Meet the Intern” series! We continue today with Sara McCarty, our Digital Media Coordinator.
Q: Where are you from?
A: I am from Elgin, Texas.
Q: Where do you go to school? What are you majoring in?
A: I am currently a junior at Trinity University studying communications and sport management. I’m also an outfielder for the Trinity softball team.
Q: Wow, you’ve got a lot going on! Is it hard to manage?
A: I am able to balance all three things because since Trinity is a Division III school, our coach understands that school is our main priority, and she is always willing to help out anyway she can.
Q: What will you be responsible for while at the Valero Alamo Bowl?
A: I am responsible for all photo and video related projects, as well as producing and editing graphic elements for in-game video walls and LED boards.
Q: What made you decide to pursue a career in digital media?
A: I have always enjoyed editing videos and creating content that tells a story, and so digital media is a perfect outlet for me to share those ideas. To give you a better picture, I’ve produced an event wrap up video for our Shining Star ENERGY Youth Clinic, as well as a video where we awarded four more scholarships.
Q: What part of this experience are you most excited about?
A: I am most excited about learning and developing new skills in different software that I know I will be able to utilize in the future, as well as being around college football, a sport that I really enjoy.
Q: Where do you see yourself in five years?
A: In five years I see myself working at a public relations firm or producing digital media for clients.
