Meet our new media relations intern, Adam Rauch! Adam is a big fan of all Houston professional sports teams and he is also a twin!
Where are you from?
Houston, Texas
What is your Alma Mater? What is your Degree in?
I graduated from Trinity University with a BA in Communications and a minor in Sport Management.
Who is older, you or your twin brother?
I am older by one hour, which means I’m the boss. I also have an older sister, which screws up the twin rivalry a little bit but it’s all good.
What is your position with the Valero Alamo Bowl?
I am the Media Relations intern. I manage the Valero Alamo Bowl Twitter and Facebook accounts and oversee all media operations during Bowl Week.
Have you had any experience in Media Relations prior to the Valero Alamo Bowl?
I spent three seasons working on the San Antonio Spurs game night media crew and worked an NBA Finals series which was awesome. I was traveling abroad when the Spurs won the NBA title two years ago, so I unfortunately wasn’t there to receive a NBA championship ring. However, it was still a great experience that I’ll always remember. I also spent some time as a communications intern for the San Antonio Scorpions.
What part of the internship are you most excited for?
I am most looking forward to managing the Alamodome press box on game day. However, I am also looking forward to all of our bowl week events, meeting new people in the industry, and the Team Announcement Party.
What are your hobbies?
Traveling, kayaking, anything basketball related, eating, fantasy sports, and college football.
What is your favorite birthday memory?
Going to the Houston Texans first ever playoff game and seeing them win followed by getting my Trinity acceptance letter later that day.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Working in a media relations department for a professional sport organization.
