The last profile in our Meet the Intern series is Josh Lightner! Josh was born in Bitburg, Germany but considers himself a San Antonio Native.
We sat down with Josh to learn a little more about him.
Where are you from?
I was born in Germany and lived all across the U.S. before my family settled in San Antonio when I was in 7th grade.
What was the reason for moving around so often?
Both of my parents were in the military, which is what brought us to San Antonio.
You played football for Smithson Valley High School. What’s your favorite memory from your time as a Ranger?
My junior year during the last game of the regular season we beat one of our biggest rivals, Reagan. During the last play of the game I deflected the Hail Mary pass they threw to try and score at the last second. We went to the playoffs that year.
What is your Alma Mater? What is your Degree in?
I’m currently attending the University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, where I’m finishing up my B.A. in Production.
What is your position with the Valero Alamo Bowl?
I serve as the Digital Media Intern. I create content to support the social media and marketing efforts of the Bowl.
What part of the internship are you most excited for?
I’m excited to have the opportunity to create digital content for our events and our game. I’m learning to work across various mediums which is pretty cool.
What are your hobbies?
Longboarding, paint ball, concerts and festivals.
What are the top three songs on your playlist right now?

What is your favorite birthday memory?
When I turned 10, my parents rented a limo for my friends and I to cruise around town in for the day. We had a blast!
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself working as a Creative Director for a record label.
